A Conservative MP has urged the NHS to use astrology when treating patients and says that anyone who doesn’t believe in a relationship between astronomical phenomena and events on Earth is ‘racially prejudiced’.
David Tredinnick, who sits on both the Health Select Committee and the Science and Technology Select Committee, told the Astrological Journal that he believes astrology ‘has a role to play in healthcare’.
And he went on to say that people who didn’t think the positions of celestial bodies influenced human affairs were ‘bullies’ who are ‘deeply prejudiced, and racially prejudiced’.

‘I do believe that astrology and complementary medicine would help take the huge pressure off doctors,’ he said.
‘Ninety per cent of pregnant French women use homeopathy.
‘Astrology is a useful diagnostic tool enabling us to see strengths and weaknesses via the birth chart.

‘And, yes, I have helped fellow MPs. I do foresee that one day astrology will have a role to play in healthcare.’
We wonder if Mr Tredinnick’s horoscope predicted the response to his comments.
Liberal Democrat Michael Mullaney said that Tredinnick was ‘letting local people down by denying them a voice in Parliament on the big issues’ while one Twitter user said he would find him ‘hilarious, if he wasn’t in a position to do untold amounts of harm’.
