A body found in a ravine in Monaco has been identified as a boxing promoter from Bristol missing for almost two weeks.

Michael Graydon, 29, from Bristol, was last seen outside a nightclub at 01:40 GMT, on Saturday 21 February.

On Thursday, a military bloodhound traced his movements from the nightclub to a church but lost the scent.

His body was found in a deep crevice on private land by passers-by.

Police have said Mr Graydon's death appeared to be an accident.

He had been caught on CCTV near the church on the night of his disappearance but cameras eventually lost view of him.

This could have been due to him straying out of their range, police said.

His mother Jane Graydon said: "I thought he was out there all along, I thought he was near that church.

"I went to the church every day, I always had a feeling he was near."

Officials in Monaco have said Michael's body should be released next week.

Mr Graydon was on the French Riviera to watch a boxing match featuring Bristol fighter Lee Haskins, but he did not attend the bout or arrive at the airport for his flight home.
