Kylie Jenner’s full lips have inspired many young women to have lip implant surgery to mimic her appearance. However, there is also a less expensive and less intrusive method to gaining full lips. Unfortunately for two Icelandic sisters, the method is not fool proof.
Yrja Ás Baldvinsdottir, 18, and her sister, Bir*gitta Ás attempted to enlarge their lips by sucking into a bottle. However, instead of Jenner’s 'enviable' look, they ended up with bruised and swollen lips.
Kylie Jenner has insisted multiple times that her lips are natural.
Yrja Ás posted a Facebook comment warning others to avoid the tactic. She wrote, “I wanted to warn people against do-it-yourself lip expansion, but was really surprised and shocked that it ended up being something that loads of people were copying.”
“I just wanted to try it and see what they would look like, I've never done it before, and I won't be doing it again,” she continued. “It was very, very painful. My lips turned blue.”

The post concluded, “but af*ter we put our photo on the pop*u*lar Beau*tyTips Face*book page we've seen a num*ber of girls copy*ing us."
Pordiis Kjartansdottir, a cosmetic surgeon, was not aware of the tactic used by girls to gain fuller lips. However, she immediately advised against the ‘do it yourself’ method.
“I can definitely say that this would be dangerous even just to try it, and especially if somebody does it more than once,” Kjartansdottir said.

She continued, “The lips turned blue because blood fills up and they could easily become infected and lose all sensation. It is a really dangerous stunt and I'd advise strongly against anybody trying it.”
