Florida woman Katherine Ajamie was arrested after reportedly letting her baby bleed for hours before seeking medical help.
According to police, Ajamie took her child to the Florida Hospital for Children to have a small procedure done. Later, Ajamie told police that the child bled through four diapers, bed sheets and onto a bed mattress following the hospital visit. However, she never sought help until the baby became pale.
“It sounds like she should have been acting quickly,” a neighbor said.
Ajamie was reportedly instructed to bring the child back for a check-up but never followed up. She also refused to answer phone calls.
The 23-year-old was arrested and charged with two counts of child neglect with great bodily harm. She was booked at the Seminole County Jail where she posted a $5,000 bond.
The baby’s medical condition is unknown.
