An argument over a drinking game in Cherry Hill left one man dead and another facing murder charges Monday.

The two men, authorities said, were playing beer pong when an argument erupted over the game, spilled outside, and ended after one man pulled a knife on the other.

William Walker Jr., 21, of the 200 block of Madison Avenue, was fatally stabbed about 2 a.m. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital and later pronounced dead, said Capt. Richard Minardi of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Monday afternoon, Minardi said, murder charges were filed against Naqeebullah Habibi, 19, of the 800 block of Cooper Landing Road.

Bail was set at $750,000.

Minardi said the two men were at a friend's party in the 1200 block of Kay Street when they got into an argument. It appeared the dispute had been resolved, but as the men were leaving, another confrontation took place. It turned into a fistfight and ended with the stabbing, authorities said.

Greg Probst, a cousin of Walker's, said the victim was a volunteer firefighter who had been pursuing his dream. He worked as a medic in Atlantic City, Probst said, and wanted to be a professional firefighter.

"He was a very energetic and happy guy," Probst said.

Walker graduated from Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill in 2008 and had been an accomplished wrestler, Probst said.

Relatives of Habibi could not be reached Monday.
