A 30-year-old Arlington Heights woman will appear in Skokie court June 21 after she allegedly stole more than a dozen bottles of over the counter medication from area supermarkets to help pay for heroin.

Jessica Nicholas, of Second Fifth Avenue, was allegedly seen May 25 on surveillance video placing 15 to 20 bottles of Aleve and Advil into a rolling white and blue cooler at a Dominck’s on the 1500 block of South Lee Street, according to reports. Police said she wheeled the cooler out of the grocery store and jumped into a silver four-door car that was waiting for her in the parking lot.

Later that day, Mount Prospect police called Des Plaines, saying Nicholas was being held in their jail for stealing aspirin bottles from the Dominick’s on Elmhurst Road, reports said.

After bonding out of the Mount Prospect lockup, Nicholas allegedly told Des Plaines officers she was on her way to the city to buy heroin when she decided to stop and steal aspirin so she could have more money to buy the drug. She sold the aspirin, valued at $210.42, at a store on the west side, bought eight bags of heroin and used them, according to reports.

Nicholas allegedly told police she was sorry for what she did and would like help. She was charged with theft.
