A new children's book, "The Cage," written by C. Matthew McMahon, claims little kids can and will go to hell if they do not convert to Christianity.
The Friendly Atheist flagged a video (below) of a new book trailer promoting "The Cage."
In the video, McMahon asks, "How do you teach little children, 5 years old, 8 years old, 10 years old, about the doctrine of hell that they might understand it?"
Later in the video, McMahon claims, "And, listen carefully, little children are not too little to go to hell. They are under the sin of Adam's original transgression and they are going there, unless Jesus Christ saves them."
McMahon explains that "The Cage" is about a boy who is locked in a big cage of sin, and can only get out of the cage by a "mysterious key" that unlocks the cage; the key turns out to be the "blood and work of Jesus Christ."
In the video, McMahon doesn't cite any scripture from the Bible that backs up his claim of little kids going to hell.
Matthew 19:14 states, "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"
According to Christian theologian John MacArthur, Biblical figure David says in 2 Samuel 12:23 that he will be reunited with his dead child (in heaven).
