There's a few little places around my way like this. They usually don't last very long.

I like their setup....Sunday, Monday closed...all other days from 5pm on only.

Probably going to spend some money there if you go..

since we're landlocked...most of those seafood items are alien to us up here  We have Red Lobster restaurants but those are chain stores with the same old common dishes..king crab, lobster, prawns etc

I wouldn't even bother with that crap at Relish.

I might go to the Fat Finch once.

Seems pretty upscale. Maybe Muddy's vaca place is fancier than the redneck riviera I pictured. :-k

It's okay, it's hard to describe the atmosphere inside, but the food was halfway decent

These places I posted seem hoity toity, but the food is really good.. These are locals just trying to make a go of it.. They struggle to stay in business because if us weekenders didnt show up they wouldn't have a clientele.. Thats why the funky hours.. Gil the fisherman doesnt own a clean pair of pants to even walk through the door.. Nor would he if he did.. I like having a nice semi-upscale place or two to escape to from time to time..

We don't get to go out too terribly often....upscale, downscale, or no scale :sad2:

There was a small, privately-owned Venezuelan place around here a while back. The food made me sick for a whole weekend. The place folded two months later. The problem was, it was fantastic when the original Venezuelan owners opened the place up. Somebody rich went in and loved the food so much, they saw an investment opportunity and bought the place off of the original owners and the new owners had to hire all new staff. The original owners gave the new owners all the recipes but they weren't gonna work for the new people, as it was just the Venezuelan family that originally opened the place up, no outside help. They took the money and ran to some place down in Florida. This all happened within a year.

We have locally owned and sourced seafood oriented places here but I don't frequent them too often as I'm allergic to shellfish and shrimp, and I'm not too fond of fish dishes.

You could always sell the kids to gypsies. The dogs will be ok for a few hours home alone if they're well trained.
