Angel Soft, a toilet paper company, recently posted a video on YouTube entitled, "Happy Father's Day, Mom."

The video (below) features several people recalling how they had single moms and how they appreciated their mothers filling both parental roles.

On their YouTube page, Angel Soft wrote, "This video honors single moms who have to be both mom and dad. Women who have to be soft and strong at the same time. These unsung heroes take on both parental roles and balance them with grace every single day. This year let's also say #HappyFathersDayMom."

However, Esquire notes that men's activist Tommy Sotomayor uploaded a video (below) response called, "Angel Soft Commercial Feminism Viciously Attack Fathers Day Masculinity!"

The Angel Soft video was also described as "despicable" and "disgraceful" by offended folks on Twitter and Facebook, according to Esquire.

Additionally, Syreeta Martin, a founder of a media company, wrote an op-ed on PhillyVoice.com entitled, "Dear Angel Soft, I am a single mother and I do not endorse your message."

In her article, Martin stated, "I believe that the title of father is reserved for the men who biologically produce their children or step in to be a father to a child in need."

Angel Soft executives told Advertising Age that the ad was not meant to degrade fathers by giving the spotlight to single moms on Father's Day.

Single parents have a tough road to walk...I wonder if single Dads get to be recognized on Mother's Day too?

If I was a single Dad, I'd be showing up at every Mother's Day event...wearing just an apron, bare assed in the back

One of my good friends is a single dad. I send him a mother's day message every year. :) I think he appreciates it, I'm sure I'm the only one :)
