The Dumb and Dumber star has been a critic of mandatory vaccinations since his relationship with Jenny McCarthy, the most outspoken celebrity in the anti-vaccination movement, and they believed her son developed autism from the injections.

Carrey continued his campaign on Tuesday (30Jun15) after California Governor Jerry Brown signed legislation requiring all public school children in the state to be vaccinated from 2016.

The actor writes on Twitter.com, "California Gov says yes to poisoning more children with mercury and aluminum in manditory (sic) vaccines. This corporate fascist must be stopped... They say mercury in fish is dangerous but forcing all of our children to be injected with mercury in thimerosol is no risk. Make sense?

"I am not anti-vaccine. I am anti-thimerosal, anti-mercury. They have taken some of the mercury laden thimerosal out of vaccines. NOT ALL!"

Carrey and MCCarthy split in 2010 after five years together.

Why is that crazy?

Mercury's great, being injected with it means you'll be able to know what temperature it is at all times

builds up your resistance for the larger doses of mercury

Why is the US not using mercury free vaccinations?
I was of the opinion that we were, but I may stand to be corrected.

Also much bigger dose from an amalgam filling than in any vaccine, that most unlikely to be the autism source.

Why is that crazy?

Because he's not a doctor and he has no business lecturing people on vaccines.

Quotes from Immunize Canada...an independent body:

An ethyl mercury derivative call thimerosal is used as a preservative. No vaccine made in Canada since March 2001 for routine use in children contains thimerosal, with the exception of the influenza vaccine. DTaP, polio and Hib vaccines have not contained this preservative since 1997-98. The MMR vaccine used in Canada has never contained thimerosal.

They've removed the Mercury and added aluminum, they will tell you. But, this too isn't harmful and no known link to Autism...

Aluminum salts (aluminum hydroxide, aluminum phosphate, or potassium aluminum sulfate) are used as adjuvants, substances added to a vaccine to enhance and strengthen the immune system's response. Adjuvants used today make it possible to reduce the amount of antigens (parts of weak or dead viruses or bacteria) in a vaccine. Monitoring of vaccines over seven decades has proven adjuvants are safe. Aluminum is the most abundant element in the earth’s crust and is found in air, food and water. Aluminum is present in breast milk and infant formula in similar amounts as in vaccines.

I know people in immunology...they have kids too. We had this discussion when my daughter was born and they and my own doctor told me facts.

Following a review of mercury-containing food and drugs mandated in 1999, the Centers for Disease Control (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centers_for_Disease_Control) (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Academy_of_Pediatrics) asked vaccine manufacturers to remove thiomersal from vaccines as a purely precautionary measure, and it was rapidly phased out of most U.S. and European vaccines. Many parents saw the action to remove thiomersal—in the setting of a perceived increasing rate of autism as well as increasing number of vaccines in the childhood vaccination schedule—as indicating that the preservative was the cause of autism. The scientific consensus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_consensus) is that there is no scientific evidence supporting these claims, including the observation that the rate of autism continues to climb despite elimination of thiomersal from routine childhood vaccines. Major scientific and medical bodies such as the Institute of Medicine (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institute_of_Medicine) and World Health Organization (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Health_Organization), as well as governmental agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_and_Drug_Administration) and the CDC reject any role for thiomersal in autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders. This controversy has caused harm due to parents attempting to treat their autistic children with unproven and possibly dangerous treatments, discouraging parents from vaccinating their children due to fears about thiomersal toxicity, and diverting resources away from research into more promising areas for the cause of autism (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cause_of_autism). Thousands of lawsuits have been filed in a U.S. federal court (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaccine_court) to seek damages from alleged toxicity from vaccines, including those purportedly caused by thiomersal.

You might as well be blaming the air we all breathe for autism.

Also note that the little snippet states that in '99, thiomersal was removed from vaccines, so neither Carrey nor McCarthy knows what the fuck they're talking about and they both should just shut the fuck up.

CA did the right thing to respond to the stupidity.

Why do have so many warning labels? Because people do stupid shit.

Why does CA have to make it a law to mandate vaccines? Same answer.

I believe the problem is the prescribing of drugs like Ritalin for the made up illness of ADD when a firm spanking is what was needed.
