A Fox News anchor has argued that men’s rights are ‘eliminated’ by a new sexual consent law.
The legislation, rolled out in college campuses across New York, states that there must be a ‘clear affirmative agreement’ between two people before they engage in sexual activity.
The agreement can be defined in a number of ways but officials are urging students to go as far as signing a contract and taking a selfie.
It’s a move that Meygan Kelly, a Fox presenter, has slammed on her show.
She said: ‘We are going in a direction where we completely, almost entirely eliminate the rights of men and there’s a presumption of guilt.
‘We’re getting to the point now where you have to have a contract and if you don’t you’re going to be presumed a rapist.’
Her colleague Brit Hume agreed, and said that advocates for affirmative consent ‘have never had any sex’.
He said: ‘That was a recognition of the fact that, as you might have put it back then, “boys will be boys” and guys are pretty lusty.’
‘And you needed to be careful when you got them around young women, particularly if there was parties and alcohol, so the rules were pretty tight.’
