Office politics are a difficult swamp to navigate, especially when you’re the new guy.
Poor Alex probably thought he was fitting in well at his new job – a nice girl called Julia even started hanging out with him.
Unfortunately for Alex it seems like Julia has an admirer… an incredibly creepy admirer.
Any email that starts with the subject ‘STAY AWAY’ is never going to be good, but this is a whole new kind of crazy.
Julia’s proximity-boyfriend explains to Alex that he and Julia are ‘basically an item’, because they eat lunch together, go to the gym and text often (or at least, he texts her often).
Like all men wallowing in the friendzone, he explains to Alex that one day Julia will open her eyes and ‘see that we’re MEANT to be with each other’.

He finishes off his email by calling Alex a ‘bozo-like clown who just finished college’ before reminding him to ‘STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM JULIA’.
Alex uploaded the message to Reddit where he asked people for advice on what to do (wouldn’t you be scared?).

Several users suggested forwarding the message on to HR and informing them that he was being threatened by a colleague, others even suggested showing Julia herself the message.
Alex said Julia has told the man ‘she isn’t really interested in anything more than being friends’, but it seems he didn’t get the very obvious hint.
Unfortunately this man, who has perfected the art of ‘creepy colleague’, is senior to both Alex and Julia, which of course has made the poor guy fear for his job.
‘I’m just trying to figure out the most amicable way to end this and let her know what he’s doing,’ he said.
Of course, this whole thing could have been created by ‘Alex’ to score some internet fame.
Let’s just hope next week we aren’t writing a story about a man who was beaten up for inadvertently ruining a one-sided office romance.
