A man avoided jail after sticking his penis through a letter box and terrifying a young mother and daughter in what was called a ‘random, impulsive act’.
Mariusz Wojcik, 45, had been drinking heavily at a pub in Paisley when he made his way to the flat, despite not knowing who lived there.
The shirtless Wojcik then began to kick to the door, prompting the young mother who lived there – and who was with her young daughter and niece at the time – to call the police and her boyfriend.
The boyfriend made his way past Wojcik and into the flat, and barricaded the door. It was then that the flat’s occupants saw the letter box open and Wojcik stick his penis through it.
At Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday, Wojcik admitted to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, likely to cause fear and alarm to others, by repeatedly kicking the door of the flat, shouting at the occupants and placing his penis through the letterbox.
He pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and hindering and obstructing police.
Though his lawyer said he was so drunk he had no recollection of the events and that he was ‘deeply ashamed of his conduct’, Wojcik was told by Sheriff Seith Ireland that he only narrowly avoided a prison sentence.
‘Those inside this flat must have been terrified. This was quite atrocious conduct,’ he said.
Wojcik was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the community. He will be supervised by social workers for a year.
