A father of 4 children in the United Kingdom, was arrested, charged and convicted of sex related crimes after exposing himself in an ambulance.
The patient, who was being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, asked a female paramedic to perform a sex act on him.
48-year-old Ian Ireland of Flintshire, Wales, who works as a property developer, called an ambulance after he had difficulty breathing. An ambulance arrived and he was tied to a stretcher.
However, during the trip to the hospital, Ireland asked to be untied so he could urinate. He was offered a bottle, but insisted on going out of the ambulance to relieve himself.
Ireland was allowed to get up from the stretcher and began pleasuring himself before asking the female paramedic to perform a sex act on him.
The paramedic told a court that the experience had made her feel “vulnerable” and she feared something “more serious” would have happened if her male colleague would not have been with her.
In court, he expressed remorse over his actions. He pleaded guilty to a charge of exposing his genitals with the intention of causing alarm or distress.
He was sentenced to 13 weeks in prison and an additional 13 weeks on probation.
Ireland was also ordered to pay £500 (about $780) compensation to the victim.
