HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) – Hot Springs police are investigating after an infant died in a hot car.
The two-year-old was reportedly found unresponsive in a car on Friday afternoon.
According to Jerry Porter with the Hot Springs Fire Department, they and Lifenet Emergency Medical Services responded to a call around 3:20 p.m. concerning a deceased child in a vehicle on Fair Oaks Place. Attempts to revive the child were unsuccessful.
It is not clear yet how long the child was in the car, but police say the death was heat-related.
According to the City of Hot Springs PIO, Cpl. McCrary Means, the body will be sent to the State Crime Lab to gather more information.
