A 12-year-old boy is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly shooting toward a man late Thursday night while chasing him down the street, police said.

The 25-year-old man wasn't hurt, but told police the boy shouted numerous times that he wanted to kill him, according to an Orlando police report.

Officers met with the pair about 11:55 p.m. at the intersection of Rio Grande Avenue and Church Street, near the Orlando Citrus Bowl, after the man called 911.

Police said they were first flagged down by the 12-year-old, who claimed the man was chasing and shooting at him.

But the man told police a different story, according to the report.

He said he was walking along West Church Street near Orange Blossom Trail when the boy approached him holding a pistol.

The boy threatened the man and then fired one shot toward him, police said.

The man ran, ducking behind buildings and crossing streets before running into the boy, who fired several more shots toward him, according to the report.

Police said the man eventually realized that the gun was out of bullets, so he turned around and started chasing the boy.

The boy threw the gun into a grassy field, and then flagged down an officer, according to the report.

Officers searched the area and found the gun, which had been reported stolen out of Orange County in August 2012. They also found several shell casings along the path the man said he ran, police said.

It's unclear how the boy ended up with the gun. He told police he found somewhere, so he took it.

Police said the child lives with his grandma a few blocks from where the shooting happened.

wtf people? 12-year-olds should have some sort of supervision, even if it is crusty ol' grandma :x
