Shootings across Chicago left three dead and 37 wounded over the weekend, including a 5-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy who were injured in separate shootings about five minutes apart Sunday evening.

The weekend shootings, counted from about 3 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday, pushed the yearly total for 2015 to at least 1,633, according to an analysis of a Chicago Tribune database on city shootings. That's more than for comparable periods in 2014 (1,469), 2013 (1,208) and 2011 (1,501).

According to a Tribune database on city homicides, 272 people have been killed so far this year, compared with 236 in 2014 and 246 in 2013.

The girl was shot while two other people were fighting at 8:40 p.m. Sunday in the 5600 block of South Bishop Street in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. One of them pulled out a handgun and fired shots, hitting the girl in the leg, police said. She was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in serious condition.

The boy was shot about 8:45 p.m. in 2500 block of North Parkside Avenue in the Belmont Central neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said. He was in a vehicle with a 19-year-old man when someone in a gray vehicle fired shots at them, police said. The 19-year-old was grazed on the head and the boy was hit in the shoulder. They went to Community First Medical Center, where the boy's condition was stabilized.

No additional details were available on either of those two shootings.

At least 10 people were shot from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning; three were killed and 12 wounded from Saturday into Sunday; and 15 people were injured from Sunday to Monday morning.

The three fatal shootings all occurred early Sunday morning. A 22-year-old man was killed in a shooting at a house party in South Austin at about 1 a.m. that also wounded four others. About two hours later, a man was killed as he sat on the lakefront in the 4200 block of South Lake Shore Drive. His age was not immediately known. At about 5 a.m., a 23-year-old man was found shot dead in West Pullman.

In addition, there were four incidents over the weekend in which three or more people were shot:

• Three people were shot about 2:45 a.m. Saturday in the University Village neighborhood. A 21-year-old man and two 17-year-old boys were in the 1000 block of West 14th Street when two people stepped out of a car and fired shots at them, police said.

• Four people were wounded along with the man who was killed at the house party in North Austin at about 1 a.m. Sunday, police said. They were hurt when someone fired shots into a crowd in the 4800 block of West Kamerling Avenue, according to police.

• Three people were shot at 7:55 p.m. Sunday in Bush neighborhood on the South Side, police said. Two women and a man were in the 8300 block of South Brandon Avenue when they were shot, police said.

• Four men were shot in West Englewood when someone approached them in the 6700 block of South Winchester Avenue, fired shots and fled, according to police.
