Tony Lara, who was featured on Discovery's Deadliest Catch, died on Saturday in South Dakota, PEOPLE can confirm.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time," a spokesperson for Discovery tells PEOPLE.
Lara, 50, was in Sturgis, South Dakota, for its annual motorcycle rally when he died over the weekend in a private home.
According to the Associated Press, Meade County Sheriff Ron Merwin is awaiting autopsy results to determine a cause of death.
Lara's death comes less than a month after Joe McMahon, a producer on Deadliest Catch, was shot steps from his home in Pasadena, California.
