View Full Version : So my Granddaughter wanted a treehouse...

. but with the way trees fall around here in storms I wasn't to keen on placing her in the boughs. So a treeless treehouse it would be.

Since I chose to compromise it had to be something REAL special so I decided to go pirate ship.

Now just not any pirate ship would work, it needs to be a wrecked ship (bow broken from stern).

Complete with climbing wall

and suspension bridge.

This is where I am so far. I still need to plank the bottom parts, make doors, the kids will walk the plank to the slide and swings will be on the broken over mast.8-)

I have some cool coach lamps that I adapted to solar to put on the porch.

This plaque (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21C0BPFY96L._SL500_AA300_.jpg) for the door, this flag (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41ZObBQADeL._SL500_AA300_.jpg), and some awesome pirate booty for the christening party.

You must have missed the moat of bamboo spikes under the bridge.;)

I wish! There are plenty of nails in this beast.
I've always been intrigued by timber framing and log joinery and have helped build two log houses.
Maybe this will satisfy age old desire to build a sailboat.8-)

That's just awesome! Good to see someone making something instead of just buying the cheap plastic crap. Are you having your Granddaughter help you?

I had some old fence boards from a section of fence I took out, I think they worked OK for planking. My ships wheel (http://www.amazon.com/18-Pirate-Ship-Wheel-Nautical/dp/B004H70YVW) should be arriving via UPS this evening.
