Police have located a tractor-trailer that clipped the bottom of four bridges Thursday afternoon.
Denver police said on Twitter late Thursday that the vehicle had been recovered. The truck was found in a lot in Commerce City near Interstate 76 and East 77th Avenue.
Three lanes of northbound Interstate 25 had been closed after the truck damaged bridges at 23rd Avenue, Speer Boulevard, 20th Street and 84th Avenue.
All lanes of northbound Interstate 25 reopened at about 4 p.m. after inspectors deemed the bridges safe.
It's unclear why the driver kept driving after running into four bridges.
"I don't know. Maybe he had his headphones on and he couldn't hear," said Raquel Lopez, Denver police spokeswoman.
Debris cascaded down from the 23rd Avenue bridge onto the highway, said Emily Wilfong, CDOT spokeswoman.
The tractor-trailer was described as a white truck carrying a yellow excavator on a flatbed trailer.
