Bethlehem Township police said a man was charged with promoting prostitution and corruption of minors after he brought his 7-year-old son with him Thursday while delivering a woman to a hotel during an undercover prostitution sting.

Jonathan Jeff Garrett, 30, of the 700 block of Bach Court in Bath, is in Northampton County Prison under $35,000 bail.

Court records did not identify the hotel nor say whether the woman accompanying Garrett was also charged.

According to court records:

On Thursday, an undercover Bethlehem Township officer responded to an ad placed on Backpage.com. Police said the ad showed a photo of a "scantily clad" woman that stated: "... Looking for some fun? Then look no more. ... I'm here to please."

When the undercover officer responded to the ad, he received a message from the unidentified woman who arranged to meet him at the hotel.

Police said a woman arrived at the hotel in the company of Garrett. The woman allegedly offered the undercover officer sex for $250.

Police said when they took Garrett into custody, they found his 7-year-old son in the back seat of the car.

Police said the woman told officers she placed the online advertisement and answered the inquiries. According to police, she said Garrett would drive her to the location and she would then give Garrett $125.

Police said Garrett also admitted that his phone number was used in the online advertisement.
