Shell Oil fired two workers after a video of them having sex leaked online.

The Sun reports that 32-year-old Lee Hanlon and his former co-worker, 33-year-old Amy Maxwell, had what they say was a one-night stand at a hotel in Scotland. Unfortunately for the couple, both of whom are married, Lee recorded the encounter on his cellphone.

Days later, 37-year-old Charon, Lee's wife of two years, found three video clips of the act and sent them to all of his contacts, including friends, co-workers and bosses.

“Been caught cheating on wife and 8-month-old baby with slag from Shell," she texted on the messaging app WhatsApp, posing as Lee. "Anyone else up for it?”

The three clips went viral online. Soon after, the company fired the two workers, the Daily Mail reports. The two were reportedly hired by an outside agency as contractors and have been reassigned, according to a Shell spokesperson.

The couple’s videos are the talk of the town — they spread like wildfire," one oil worker said. "I don’t know anyone who has not seen them."

Lee, a former project engineer for the oil company, reportedly met Maxwell six months ago at the company's decommissioning plant in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Although Charon allegedly vandalized Lee's Audi after she saw the videos, she and Lee reportedly stayed together.

"Everybody has seen the videos," said Maxwell, who is planning to move out of the area with her husband. "It has ruined lives. It wasn’t an affair, it was a one-off. It was only on his phone for two days before his wife found it."

Her husband is the only person she knows who has not watched the video, although he knows about it, she said.

"I’ve had sympathy from everyone," Maxwell said, adding that she is taking some time off before she starts looking for another job. "I’ve no idea what (the Hanlons') relationship was like but she was obviously searching through his phone. You don’t do that without a reason."

If they were carrying on at work, that's one thing, but just because he's cheating on someone he knows from work, is it any of their business??
...unless they appropriated the lube from work...:cheerlead:

Pony suggested in the reported thread that they might want to squash anything online in preparation of a divorce suit. I sincerely doubt that deleting this will help any.

Point number one: once something salacious gets out on the web, you'll never get rid of it. It spreads like wildfire. There's no outrunning it.

Point number two: This is a news article, not porn nor pictures. Their revenge porn claim doesn't apply here. Also, having this article here is protected under free speech.

If whoever sent that notice would like something to really bitch about, I'll be more than happy to track down that video and the pictures and post them all over the place, and flip the complainers the bird.

The woman complaining needs to learn to make better decisions and needs to learn to live with her mistakes. Yes, you're going to get burned by this, but that's life, get used to it. Take your medicine, move past it, and make better decisions in the future... homewrecker.

Yup, and the only people that can have the story removed is the copyright holder or someone with a court order.

And just an FYI, the site's servers are based in Kansas City
