Spiritual healer Dorina Rosin is reportedly planning to give birth in the ocean with a dolphin serving as her midwife. She received a 38-week pregnancy blessing while swimming with some dolphins (video below).
Rosin's story appears in a new documentary on U.K. television entitled "Extraordinary Births."
Rosin and her husband Maika Suneagle, who operate a healing retreat on Hawaii's Big Island, claim that their baby will be able to speak "dolphin," notes the Daily Mail.
This is not the first time a couple has come up wih this idea, which was slammed in 2013 by science journalist Christie Wilcox in Discover: "My professional opinion: this has to be, hands down, one of the worst natural birthing ideas anyone has ever had (and that is saying a lot)."
Wilcox noted that male dolphins abduct and gang-rape female dolphins, and added: "Dolphins will toss, beat, and kill small porpoises or baby sharks for no apparent reason other than they enjoy it."
The Huffington Post noted in 2012 that Michael Maes, an underwater videographer, filmed a dolphin getting sexually aggressive with him and another diver (video below).
Rosin explains her spiritual philosophy and love for dolphins on her blog.
