SKYPE updates, very spammy with adverts now

Has anybody else noticed this?
Adverts keep popping up in ALL windows in the user interface, Is it connected with its recent sale?? trying to beef up its incomes?
I used to use skype through Miranda IM but the new updates stop Miranda going through the Skype API. so you're forced to see its adverts. [-(
