RUSHVILLE, IN— A student who pulled a senior prank in Indiana could miss more than graduation.
He could actually go to jail.
Tyell Morton was caught on surveillance cameras bringing a package into Rushville High School while he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and latex gloves.
The school feared it was a bomb so they called in the state bomb squad.
Authorities discovered the box only contained a "blow up" doll which was left in the girls bathroom as a joke.
"It was just a senior prank, you know. I mean they're blowing it out of proportion," Tyell Morton said as he was taken away in handcuffs. "I didn't hurt nobody, I didn't have no intention of embarrassing nobody."
Morton is now charged with felony criminal mischief.
"In this post-Columbine world, that's what you get when these kind of things happen," said Phil Caviness, Rush County, Indiana Prosecutor.
Morton had no criminal record and was considered as a good student.
Now he will miss graduation and could face up to eight years in prison.
A student at New Trier is also missing his graduation this weekend because of a senior prank.
John Matthews was suspended eight days for dropping pornographic images down a school stairwell last month.
Matthews asked a judge to allow him to attend graduation, citing school policy that prohibits additional punishment.
The judge refused the request and New Trier officials say seniors and parents were warned about the consequences of pulling pranks.
