A self-proclaimed alien expert believes this photo shows proof of live on Mars - claiming it shows a giant scorpion on the red planet.

Taiwan-based UFO 'expert' Scott C. Waring also believes the photograph shows a hut-like structure that he suggests could house a number of Martians he claims to have found in other photos.

Mr Waring made the remarks after seeing the above photo taken by NASA's Curiosity Rover - but can you spot the alleged alien life form?

It is situated on top of a large rock that is on it's own at the upper right side of the photo.

Writing on a website called UFO Sightings Daily, Mr Waring says: "Life on mars...sure it sounds strange, but why?

"Because were were taught by our government that life doesn't exist on other planets.

Creepy: This is what some believe to be an alien scorpion

Exoskeleton: Does this look like an alien creature to you?

"We have been programed to think they are correct.

"Don't challenge authority, not when so many trust it.

"Well, I was one of the trusting long ago, but that all changed when I found things in a Mars photo.

"In this photo (Sol 1100) I found a living creature, with a black exoskeleton, much like a desert beetle or scorpion might have.

"The creature is sitting on top of a rock, so that it can see farther away, probably for hunting purposes.

"It also has one upraised arm wit three claws on its end.

Mysterious: The surface of the planet holds many secrets

Gimme shelter: Mr Waring believes this is a shelter for Martian women

"It probably didn't move while the rover was there, since it would be conserving its energy.

"Movement would be reserved for hunting...surviving."

Posting the photos on the website, which makes interesting use of bright red and green text to make a series of outlandish claims, Mr Waring also believes he can see a hut that he suggested was used by small alien women.

He said: "I also found the roof of a small structure.

"This structure would match the size of the tiny women figures we have been finding.

"Three come to mind.

"The roof has corner supports and bars going down where walls would have once been."

Experts have said the images are just rocks and the tail is simply the rover's camera pixelating.

When I see stories like this, my first question is always the same. Who on earth has that much free time to stare at every single photo taken from the Martian surface to look for things like this?

:-s

NASA?

I'm pretty sure that it isn't NASA that's trying to claim there's an alien scorpion living on Mars :-k

"A self-proclaimed alien expert" ≠ NASA :hand:

NASA still looks at the pictures for a long time.

fook me I've worked since I was 14...never claimed EI or UI (unemployment insurance) once and never tried for any sort of welfare...

now I'm at a time when I could use UI, they've changed the rules. If you quit your job or get fired for any reason, you can't claim. In fact, only pregnant women and people who are laid off (where the position vanishes or is discontinued) are the only two categories where you can claim :|

back in the day my friends would work 6 months, claim UI for the next 6 months, rinse and repeat
