A man’s attempt to kill a spider at a gas station literally backfired, and the whole incident was caught on camera (below).
In surveillance video of the incident, a man is seen at a Michigan gas station pulling out his cigarette lighter to kill a spider he spotted on his gas tank.
“He didn’t have a cigarette,” gas station employee said. "He didn’t have anything on him. All of a sudden I look out and I see flames."

When the man attempts to kill the spider with the lighter, his car suddenly bursts into flames. He manages to flee the area without injury, and subsequently puts the blaze out with a nearby fire extinguisher.

According to reports, the gas pump was destroyed in the fire.
