MADISON, Wis. -
A man attacked in downtown Madison Friday night told police he thought he had been assaulted by a hippopotamus.
Police said the 25-year-old man from Cambria was knocked unconscious during an attack in the 300 block of West Gorham Street.
A witness told police another man was throwing punches and continued hitting the victim after he was down.
The injured man was intoxicated and didn’t know what happened, according to police. He suffered broken teeth and needed sutures to close a head cut.
