It looks like things are really starting to go, go forward in production for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot.
For English actress Naomi Scott has become the first performer to sign up to star in the forthcoming film.
She will play the Pink Ranger, who was originally portrayed as a sarcastic valley girl, but with a heightened awareness for her friends.
A message on the franchise's official Twitter page said: 'BIG #PowerRangers movie news - @naomiscott is playing the Pink Ranger!'
The 22-year-old actress tweeted back, 'I'm done.' Her role was originally played by gymnast Amy Jo Johnson in the early 1990s.
It is not the only big film the 22-year-old has starred in, though it will certainly be the largest in which she has had a main role.
She is currently on screens around the world in The Martian, in which she played the supporting character Ryoko.
The daughter of a Ugandan mother of Indian descent and an English father, she married superstar Milton Keynes Dons defender Jordan Spence last year.
According to Variety, makers Lionsgate are currently in the process of testing up-and-coming actors and actresses as they try to complete the team.
The Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are writing the script, while Haim Saban, Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur are producing.

Department Of Nothing director Dean Israelite is helming the movie, while Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are handling writing duties.
At the moment Power Rangers is slated to hits cinemas in January 2017.
The original Mighty Morphin Powers Rangers show became an overnight sensation back in 1993, and has spawned two movies, a slew of different television series, video games and even a stage play.
