It has been nine months since her soldier dad left for a tour of the Middle East – so this little girl wasn’t going to let military protocol stand in the way of welcoming him home.
In the video captured by a local news channel, she gets up in the middle of the welcome service and runs over to Lt Daniel Ogelsby in front of everyone in the hall.
Her dad, standing to attention in a row of other soldiers, reaches down to give Karas a gigantic hug.

She then runs back to her seat and waits for some more hugs when the service is over.
The soldiers from the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team had just returned from a training mission in Kuwait, where they were the closest ground troops to the conflict in Syria training where training American allies to counter the ISIS threat.
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette almost 300 soldiers returned from the Middle East over the past week.
Cute! We haven’t seen a kid this excited since this baby who jumped for joy in tandem with his dog at the sound of dad’s car in the drive.
