A former beauty queen is accused of creating child pornography of a 4-year-old female relative and then selling it to a Marine stationed in Southern California.
Meghan Breanna Alt, 25, of Irvine, California, who won the “Mrs. Orange County” crown in 2014, was booked on suspicion of production and distribution of child pornography and lewd and lascivious conduct with a child following a traffic stop in San Diego on Oct. 8, CBS Los Angeles reported. Alt was under surveillance at the time of arrest, according to Orange County Sheriff Lt. Jeff Hallock.
Alt is also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and investigators believe she volunteered with children at the church.
Alt, who is married with children of her own, is suspected of advertising services online for money, Hallock told NBC Los Angeles.
According to a news release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, investigators are seeking other potential victims. Alt is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and was due in court Oct. 9.
It is unclear if the Marine Alt was allegedly sending child pornography to in exchange for money and gifts will also face charges.
