LAVEEN, AZ - The quiz had questions about sex, wife-swapping and other very personal topics, and now a teacher is on leave.
Phoenix Union High School District officials say a personality quiz, with more than 200 questions, got into the hands of about 100 9th through 12th graders at Betty Fairfax High School in Laveen.
The self-scoring personality survey has questions from the ordinary like, "Are you irritable sometimes?"
Things like, "Do you prefer ordinary sex?", "Do you watch pornographic videos?", and "Would you attend a wife-swapping party" had some upset.
"I think it was very, very, very inappropriate for my 15-year-old to get those questions,” Karina Vega, whose son took the quiz, said.
Vegas says her son refused to tell her some of the questions for fear he would get in trouble.
“He just told me about it, he didn't ask me anything,” Vega said.
School district officials were notified once other parents called to complain about the survey.
The principal sent a letter home calling the quiz “inappropriate, highly personal, and even offensive.”
The district says the survey was not approved and policies were not followed.
The teacher is on administrative leave and an investigation has been launched.
