ROCK HILL - A 32-year-old man is facing assault charges after his stepfather claims they got into an altercation over spilled Kool-Aid.
The 57-year-old victim told police he was at his home on Rockwood Drive around 11 p.m. Saturday, after he got into an argument with his stepson after the stepfather knocked over his cup of Kool-Aid.
After becoming “irate” over the spilled drink, the younger man reportedly punched him in the head several times, causing a visible injury to the stepfather, according to the Rock Hill police report.
The stepson reportedly fled from the area after the assault, and officers were unable to locate him after they arrived on scene. A short time later, police were called back to the Rockwood Drive home when the stepson returned, and officers reportedly found him hiding behind his bedroom door.
The man was charged with third-degree assault and battery, and was transported to the Rock Hill city jail.
