The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says a 13-year-old Buckeye boy has been injured after he was shot with a homemade shotgun.
The Sheriff's Office says the boy apparently shot himself. When deputies arrived on the scene, they determined the boy had shot himself with a crude, homemade shotgun.
The boy was flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital for surgery. He was struck in the rib area by a projectile, according to authorities. n MCSO official described the gun as an "Internet inspired homemade gun."
