About a year ago, a popular image emerged on the web. The content? A disturbingly realistic looking scrotum backpack — that's right, a backpack modeled after an actual man's saggy scrotum. The man donning the bag in the original image (seen below) was bald, too, making him resemble a gigantic schlong complete with unruly ball hair. The Internet had lots of fun with it.

As soon as the image hit the web, it spread like wildfire and droves of potential consumers – including Ludacris and Tommy Lee, allegedly – began asking where they could get themselves this one-of-a-kind bag. But to their dismay, they couldn't own one, because that's exactly what it was: one-of-a-kind.

The original Scrote 'n' Tote pictured above was created by noted special effects prosthetics artist C.J. Goldman, whose work has been seen in blockbuster films like "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines," and "Dawn of the Dead." The problem with this viral $2,000 bag, according to Scrote 'n' Tote creator Daniel Bitton (who paid for the thing using university grant money) was that it was "too heavy and delicate to be used as a proper backpack."

He adds that the backpack would cost nearly $1,000 to recreate, which is why he's now seeking thousands of dollars in donations from guys like us. In total, Bitton is looking to raise $33,000, and is using crowdfunding website Indiegogo to finance the project and manufacture 5,000 bags. (They tried Kickstarter first, but were shot down for reasons the website refused to share.)

Your donations will cover research costs that include the testing of various materials and methods for fastening the bag's skin-like material to the backpack. When all is said and done, Bitton hopes to sell his backpacks for $120 each, plus shipping.

"The aim of this campaign is to solve one of humanity's most urgent and pressing problems: the complete lack of fully functional, realistic human scrotum apparel available in the world today," says the Indiegogo copy, and the campaign video is similarly bizarre and chock-full of satire.

As of this posting, the Scrote 'n' Tote has earned a measly 61 dollars. But since the bag has only been on the crowdfunding market for 12 hours, this doesn't mean the Canadian-made product won't make it to market. If you'd like to buy yourself a backpack modeled after man's most precious appendage, head over to the Indiegogo page and donate.
