Newport News, Va. – A Yorktown woman has been charged with five counts of child neglect, driving under the influence, refusing to take a blood or breath test and reckless driving after she was involved in a crash on Saturday night, according to police.
Police say Vonnisha Robinson, 26, struck another car from behind with five children in her car around 10:40 p.m.
Two of the children are 8 and 9-year-old girls. The third child is a 10-year-old boy.
Police have not given any information about the other two children.
A child sitting in the front passenger seat of the car was taken to the hospital to be checked after the airbag deployed. The child was treated and released.
Robinson was treated and released from the hospital and placed in the custody of the Newport News City Jail.
