Depending on one political perspective and level of cynicism, this is either the celebration of the bounty of the harvest and a good family day, or it is glorifying the white man stealing killing Indian Tribes and stealing their land.

My answer to the latter is "good, don't participate, more pie for me, asshole. What time are the football games."

3 football games and two meals for me today. More importantly, I've been so busy I haven't seen any of my family in a couple months. Looking forward to it.

I know Canada had a Thanksgiving, but what about the UK, AU, Europe, Scandinavia, etc - are there similar days? Excuse my holidays-in-other-countries ignorance.

I posted this elsewhere, but I made these pies for today. The new racks are amazing. I fucked up the crust edges by doing the foil wrap poorly. :sad2:

But you have other unique days, right? I tried to look up "unique UK holidays" but the search was all about vacations.

Thats not a public holiday :shakehead: All it is, is an excuse to have a bonfire and a fireworks display.

I had a turkey at Christmas in England once. It was cooked in one of those round BBQs outside. The best, moistest Turkey I've ever had.

It's just an ordinary day here in Canada. Thanksgiving was a little while ago for us.

Oh, shite, I'm fubar. Mom drank some wine, I drank some whiskey got in a huge argument. Things were looking bad, but apologies and tears later all is well. As much as I hate to admit it, it's normal.

Hope you all enjoyed your turkey coma.

I ate so much I felt like puking. I am just not used to huge starchy meals any more. But got-damn! was it all good.
