Twitter newcomer Patty Parsons posted the image of the sex toy on to social media - oblivious to what it was and keen to crowdsource an answer to her question.
And the internet was quick to reply and tell her about her 19-year-old’s masturbation habits.
The innocent mother also got a quick lesson on how to use Twitter and picked up a few followers along the way.
But Patty’s denial, distress and ignorance about her son’s passage from innocence to experience was arguably the most entertaining.
