Reality shows like Geordie Shore have been blamed for a rise in sexting amongst teenagers.
A new study by the University of Amsterdam questions whether there is a link between the antics of reality stars and the rise in X-rated content being sent online.
The cast of Geordie Shore are famous for their raunchy on-screen antics and tashing on all over the toon.
Experts reckon youngsters are more inclined to share saucy snaps of themselves to copy the antics of their favourite reality stars.
The study looked at 1,765 adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17.
It also took into consideration whether teens were being influenced by pornography on the internet.
Dr Laura Vandenbosch of Amsterdam University told the Daily Star: "We found watching sexual reality TV content stimulated adolescents to produce and distribute sexual images of themselves.
"In turn this led them to watch sexual reality television content more frequently."

Vicky Pattison regrets having sex on TV
Stars of the show have previously expressed their regret at having sex on screen , including former GS lass and current I'm a Celebrity beauty Vicky Pattison.
She said: “Having sex on TV is something I hugely regret. I didn't do it often but it was awful for my mum. It felt very invasive. It’s the nature of the beast.
"I feel as though my mistakes have been immortalised. I’ll forever be known for some of the things I’ve done.
"I think when I first started Geordie Shore I was like 22 or 23, it was a long time ago and a lot has happened since then and I have grown up.
"Hindsight is a lovely thing, I look back on some of the things I have done and I just think ‘you utter tw*t’. Like how did you behave like that."
