A giant spider has been spotted lurking behind a glass door – appearing to flatten itself out to avoid detection.
The arachnid, believed to be a Huntsman spider, was pictured at a home in Australia.

While the bite of the huntsman is not toxic to humans – the sheer size of the eight-legged creature is one to stop someone in their tracks.
Not only that but the spider is known to sometimes jump and often will eat other spiders. *Shudders*.
Luckily this resident spotted the creature before it jumped and was able to take a photograph to share on social media.
The post on Reddit has now been shared more than 9,000 times in just 12 hours.
Many were shocked at the size of the spider
Please tell me that’s a fake spider someone made out of pipe cleaners as a prank.
Others questioned whether it really was a huntsman
Is it a huntsman? Maybe it’s just the angle or camera or something, but it looks like it has really thick legs for a huntsman.
And some marvelled at his magnificence
He’s your furry friend who’s fun to be with. He eats other spiders.
A spider expert from the Australian Reptile park later confirmed the creature was indeed a huntsman.
