ARLINGTON, Va. - A man was arrested early Sunday morning after an Arlington County police officer observed him snorting cocaine inside a pizza restaurant in Clarendon.
According to police, the officer was standing outside Goody’s restaurant at around 2:55 a.m. when he saw 26-year-old William Donovan, of Vienna, allegedly doing lines of the drug off a table.
As the officer approached to arrest him, police say Donovan stated, “I’m going home tonight,” stood in a fighting stance and got into a physical altercation by throwing the officer onto the ground. A witness came to the officer’s assistance and they were able to restrain and apprehend the suspect.
Donovan was charged two counts of assaulting an officer, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest for the incident.
He is being held without bond.
