Wayne Rogers, 82, Actor in TV Show ‘M.A.S.H.’
LOS ANGELES — Wayne Rogers, the actor whose Trapper John McIntyre on “M.A.S.H.” was among the most beloved characters on one of the most popular television shows of all time, died on Thursday in Los Angeles. He was 82.
The cause was complications from pneumonia, Rona Menashe, Mr. Rogers’s publicist, said.
As the army surgeon Trapper John, Mr. Rogers swapped wisecracks with his partner in martinis and mischief, Hawkeye Pierce, played by Alan Alda.
Mr. Rogers was on the show for just the first three of its 11 seasons.
