A woman with a wooden stick in her hand tried to rob a San Pedro bank Monday morning but was quickly arrested, police said.
The woman walked into the Bank of America branch at Ninth Street and Pacific Avenue about 9 a.m. She had the stick in her hand and handed a note demanding cash to a teller. She also claimed to have a gun.
The teller did not give her anything, so she walked away. A security guard followed her, giving police her location. Officers arrived and took her into custody, police said.
The woman’s name was not immediately released.
