Now it’s January, so we’re all likely to have moaned about the weather in the last week or two.

But apparently, some are more entitled than most.

Especially residents of Eglwyswrw, in Pembrokeshire, west Wales.

It’s believed that the village is currently enduring the longest stint of consecutive rainy days in almost a century – 92 years, to be exact.

Eglwyswrw hasn’t had a single whole dry day since October.

Local Councillor John Davies compared the relentless inclement weather to a biblical plague.

‘We’ve had rain of biblical proportions. It’s poured down for almost 80 days and nights so by that reckoning we would need two arks,’ he told WalesOnline.

‘It is grinding people down both physically and psychologically.’

Thankfully, the 700-strong population have managed to avoid flood damage seen in other parts of the country, such as Aberdeen, York and Cumbria.

But, Davies suggested the weather had begun to take its toll on the non-human residents too.

‘Our sheep are pretty hardy animals but even they are looking down in the mouth. Their fleeces are not getting the chance to dry out because of the endless rain,’ he added.

I'm not convinced we've had a single dry day since about October/November either, but such is the shite weather here.
