THEY are one of the most distinctive fossil shapes found on Earth, and now alien hunters claim to have found evidence of trilobites once living on Mars.
In a video released on YouTube, a paranormal channel has published a short film showing anomalies it claims to have discovered in NASA images of the Red Planet posted online.
Among the most striking are two oval shaped stone objects that have the appearance of triloytes - the over-sized woodlouse-like sea creature that lived on Earth 52million years ago.
Scott C Waring, editor of UFO Sightings Daily, could not contain his excitement in a blog post.

He said: "Just check out these two trilobites found on Mars this week.
"Whatsupinthesky37 of Youtube found them and its mind-blowing. Trilobites fossils here on Earth are often found around other trilobites.
"They live and die together. So seeing two of them is no surprise, but great evidence of a large water area that once covered the area here.

"You can even see the ridges of the separate sections of the trilobites.
"Fantastic detail."
The trilobites are the latest in a string of so-called discoveries found in NASA images of Mars over the past year.
These have included, crabs, lobsters, mice, and even a bear.

He coloured in the object to "bring out the features."
While alien hunters are convinced these strange shapes in the rock and and are evidence of life or former life on Mars, NASA and other scientists say they are just cases of pareidolia, whereby the brain tricks the eyes into seeing familiar objects or shapes in textures or patterns.
The UFO buffs are having none of it though and continue to seek out new finds.
Other "discoveries" of the past few days include a "totem pole-like structure", and a "fossilised sea bed" - this time with coral and a mollusc-like shell.
