Know someone who just loves their spuds?

Then, new website Mystery Potato might just have the perfect one-of-a-kind gift for them.

For around £5, Mystery Potato will send a potato, bearing a personalised message, to your special someone.

All you have to do is choose your potato (sweet or jacket?) and provide the message you want to personalise it with. They will then send out the anonymous spud to your recipient.

Why, you may ask?

Well, according to Jeff Kelly and Jim Owens, the American businessmen behind Mystery Potato, ‘potatoes are simple and they bring joy and confusion like you would not believe.’

And ‘in these days of email, tweets, Snapchat, and Facebook messenger, sending someone something in the mail is starting to have a renewed power and impact….Potatoes are just the thing to send in the mail.’

There are sweet potatoes.

And there are happy birthday (and stuff) potatoes.

You can also get them to mail out revenge sacks of potatoes, but, mostly, MysteryPotato is all about positivity. And carbs.

Go on, say it with a spud.

It costs from $7.99 (£5.40) to mail a potato. And they do ship internationally.

Valentine’s Day sorted.
