CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested Thursday for allegedly impersonating a police officer at a Clarksville restaurant.

Ronald Taylor reportedly entered Golden Corral on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard around 5 p.m.

While ordering, Taylor allegedly produced a concealed handgun and badge before stating “the drink is usually free.”

A Clarksville Police Department detective happened to be in front of Taylor in line and inquired if he was a police officer, according to a release.

Taylor reportedly confirmed he was a police officer and said he was with DHS, the Department of Homeland Security, and was in town on some business.

Police determined Taylor is actually an insurance agent in Kentucky. The concealed permit and badge were from the state of Kentucky.

Clarksville police reported Taylor was in possession of a loaded Springfield 45 and a loaded Ruger 380 handgun.

Taylor was booked into the Montgomery County jail and charged with impersonating a police officer. His bond was set at $500.
