Raven-Symone launched her acting career on Disney’s “That’s So Raven,” where she played a teenage psychic, but she apparently doesn’t have enough foresight to understand how the election process works.
Symone, 30, now hosts “The View,” where she told the audience that she will move to Canada if a Republican is nominated - which is an inevitably in the U.S.’s two-party system.
“My confession for this election is if any Republican gets nominated, I’m gonna move to Canada with my entire family,” she said, according to NY Daily News. “Is that bad?”
Symone claimed that she has her travel plans already sorted out. “I already have my ticket. I literally bought my ticket, I swear,” she said. Although she isn’t a citizen of Canada, she says she’ll “figure that out.”
Becoming a Canadian citizen takes over four years - longer than a presidential term, according to the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants. However, the controversial television personality may have some luck appealing to a radio DJ in Cape Breton Island, off the tip of the Nova Scotia on Canada’s eastern coast. The DJ designed website attached to the local tourism website appealing to Americans unhappy with the current political climate, Agence France-Presse reported via Raw Story.
“Don’t wait until Donald Trump is elected president to find somewhere else to live!” the site read.
“Start now, that way, on election day, you just hop on a bus to start your new life in Cape Breton, where women can get abortions, Muslim people can roam freely, and the only ‘walls’ are holding up the roofs of our extremely affordable houses.”
So far, there’s been no word on whether or not Symone will immigrate to the island
