Former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle suffered a good old fashioned beatdown in prison.
The convicted pedophile was jumped in the rec yard of Englewood prison in Colorado on January 29, TMZ reported. He was attacked by a convicted armed robber, and it wasn’t much of a fight.
Inmate Steven Nigg, 60, reportedly pushed Fogle down and unloaded a series of punches to his face. He left Fogle with a swollen face, scratched neck and bloody nose.
The only injury Nigg suffered was a small cut on his left hand from delivering the punches. He was put in solitary confinement as punishment, according to prison officials.
TMZ spoke with Nigg’s family in regards to the incident. They learned that Nigg was angry because the low security facility is filled with so many child sex predators. For him, Fogle was the last straw.
Fogle’s image as the guy who lost 200lbs eating Subway sandwiches was tarnished when he pleaded guilty to engaging in sex with underage prostitutes and possessing child pornography, NY Daily News reported. He also admitted to having sex with two teenagers at hotels in New York City.
Fogle’s earliest possible release date is July 11, 2029. Nigg, who is in prison on a gun charge, is scheduled to be released from prison in 2024.
