A PARANORMAL investigator says he has discovered what could be the first ever image of God, captured on camera deep within the Universe.
The huge face was found in a European Space Agency image of the Carina Nebula which is between 6,500 and 10,000 light years from Earth.
A nebula is a vast cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium and other ionised gases.
The "portrait" is therefore a clear case of pareidolia - or a face in the clouds - but Scott C Waring, who edits ufosightingsdaily.com has suggested it could be a real intergalactic monument to a higher being.
Pareidolia, the phenomenon which leads us to see faces and animal shapes in the clouds or other patterns and textures, is when the brain tricks the eyes into picking out familiar objects from an otherwise jumbled scene.
Faces tend to be the most common thing seen.
But in a philosophical blog post and video, Mr Waring seems to believe the face he has found in the nebula could have been purposefully put there by something or someone and it could be paying homage to some higher being or even God.
Mr Waring, who estimated the face was 162million miles across, the same distance from Earth to Venus, said: "For him to be in the super nova is absolutely incredible.
"For this guy to be that popular, to be that famous is mind melting."
Mr Waring's speculations raised the question of whether God could be an alien, as he pointed out the face must be of a higher or divine being from a species of blue-skinned beings.

The finding appears to be just the result of a break in the dust clouds as there is a much bigger break of the same colour below the "face".
But Mr Waring blogged: "We put our most precious idealistic faces of our most iconic heroes on tiny little coins.
"We even put faces carved into mountains, but I am here today to show you how small we really are.
"I came across a very large blue male face…made on purpose to stand out for all to know, much like how America put its foist president George Washington on a quarter.
"Sure Washington has impressed America, but this blue guy in the nebula has impressed entire worlds, maybe whole stars items with his beliefs."
It would not even be possible to create a face or other shape in the nebula as it is simply made up of clouds of dust and gas.
Mr Waring is not convinced by the scientific pareidolia explanation and is even appealing to readers of his website to study it and see if they recognise who it could be and whether it is the God of the whole universe or just some esteemed alien supreme being.
But the monster-sized face is not the only crackpot claim made by Mr Waring on his website today.
In another image taken by NASA of our Sun, he claims an odd-cross-shaped anomaly is a gigantic UFO staring energy from the Sun.
